Vanves Early music Days includes a rich musical program and a showroom of lutes, shawms, cornets, bagpipes, crumhorns and recorders of all shapes and sizes. The birth of this festival reflects the constantly growing interest in performing early music in Paris region and beyond. In a warm atmosphere, the showroom will welcome more than 120 exhibitors this year. As well as the main exhibition, the Vanves festival is also a friendly meeting point between instrument makers and actors of Early Music, be they performers, teachers, amateurs, publishers or other enthusiasts. We want to shed light on not only baroque music, but also some of the oldest musical repertoires of the Middle Ages and Renaissance periods that are all too often forgotten. The music program complements the exhibition and brings festivity and entertainment to the event. From dancing to informal "apero-lutherie" meetings over a drink or conferences on musical scores there is something for everyone! This year’s Vanves Early Music Days builds on the success of the inaugural festival last year which had more than 600 visitors and 72 exhibitors from 11 different countries in Europe and beyond. Professional musicians and amateurs came in numbers, but they were also joined by many who were new to early music, curious to discover these repertoires and instruments from bygone days. The Journees de Musiques Annciennes is increasingly successful thanks to the support of partners like la Mairie de Vanves, and the département des Hauts-de-Seine. It is also a success because it integrates the professional and amateur musical practices with support from the Conservatoire / Grand Paris Seine Ouest.
